DANR Hosts Town Hall Meetings in Miami & Orlando, Fl October 23 & 24, 2009
DANR Continues Hosting Town Hall Meetings Across the United States and Puerto Rico
Washington, DC.–The DANR continues hosting a series of town hall meetings across the United States and Puerto Rico on the 2010 Census, educational opportunities for students and issues affecting Dominicans and Hispanics.
On Friday, October 23, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the DANR held a town hall meeting on the 2010 Census at the Hyatt Plaza Doral located on 3655 NW 82 Ave. Miami, Florida.
Media representatives and community residents attended the event, coordinated by Ms. America Schroh in collaboration with Mr. Radhames Peguero, Executive Director of the Dominican American National Foundation and one of the senior founders of the Dominican American National Roundtable.
On Saturday, October 24, 2009 in the afternoon, DANR President attended a meeting of the International Association of Hispanic Writers and Poets (AIPEH) at Orlando General Public Library (101 E Central Blvd., Downtown, Orlando, Fl 32801) at the Alberson Room on the 3rd Floor.
This invitation was coordinated by Mr. Celso Alvarado, one of the three DANR National Board Directors representing the State of Florida. Accompanying President Montilla were DANR Chair of Fundraising and Institutional Development Dr. Maria Teresa Feliciano, Mr. Celso Alvarado and Ms. American Schroh.
At these town hall meetings, US Census representatives, community leaders and local residents join DANR President Nestor Montilla in an interactive conversation about the census and other important issues impacting the Latino and Dominican communities in the State of Florida and in the United States.
