DANR National Awareness Census Campaign Uno Mas Uno

¡Uno Más Uno! (One Plus One!) is a multi-layered non-partisan national program to raise awareness in both English and Spanish about (1) the importance of being counted by the US Census; (2) the importance of becoming US citizen via naturalization and (3) the importance of being registered voters in the United States and its territories, including Puerto Rico.

The program promotes the full count of Dominicans, Dominican Americans and Latinos in the US Decennial Censuses.

¡Uno Más Uno! (One Plus One!) is a campaign spearheaded by the Dominican American National Roundtable (DANR) to incorporate Dominicans and Latinos as full participants in the American political process. The campaign consists of three initiatives: (1) Naturalization to increase the number of Dominicans becoming naturalized citizens in the US, (2) Voter Registration to increase the number of Dominican registered voters, and (3) a national Uno Más Uno Déjese Contar! drive aimed at achieving a full count of Dominicans and Dominican Americans in the 2010 Census.

The successful implementation of these initiatives will guarantee that the Dominican population is enumerated in an appropriate way, afforded more equitable political representation and provided a fair share of the $3 billion dollars allocated annually in the US in accordance with official census demographic data.
