The Dominican American National Roundtable will host its 17th Annual Leadership Summit in Washington, DC from Thursday, September 18 through Sunday, September 21, 2014
Highlights of the program include a Legislative Day on Thursday, September 18th, and on Saturday, September 20th at 1pm at the U.S. Capitol, “Introspective: A Call to Action,” a historic strategic summit of leaders about the internal and external challenges US communities face when competing for political representation, socio-economic opportunities and inclusion. The agenda also includes discussion on impending immigration reform (Bills H.R.5 and H. R. 490) and education policy (HR 521).
Participants will join DANR leadership, elected officials, and experts to discuss the current state and prospects of Dominican Americans in USA.
Dr. Silvio Torres-Saillant, Professor at Syracuse University, will join DANR Vice President Professor & Rev. Alejandro Benjamín, and other experts to talk about the psychopathology of leadership, the need for introspection and action strategies to advance.

After the forum at the US Capitol, DANR will host an Award Ceremony and Commemorative Dinner at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill, starting at 7pm.
DANR has invited Mr. Thomas Pérez, U.S. Secretary of Labor, to be the keynote speaker.
