Nestor Montilla Sr. to Deliver the Keynote at Dominican Independence Celebration at Newark City Hall

Washington, DC.– Nestor Montilla, Sr., Chairman of the Dominican American National Roundtable (DANR) and Lehman College’s Director of Government Relations, will deliver the keynote at the 172nd Dominican Republic’s Independence Celebration on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Newark City Hall in New Jersey.

“We would be honored by your presence and by sharing your knowledge of the history of the Dominican Republic with us and the community,” said Janette Ravelo-Torres, President, and Amiris Perez-Bonilla, Secretary of Quisqueyanos Unidos, in their invitation to Mr. Montilla.

The special ceremony will begin at 3:30pm with the Dominican Republic flag raising in front of Newark City Hall located at 920 Broad Street Newark, NJ 07012.

Mr. Raul Acosta, from New York-based Merengue group Oro Solido, will be a guest of honor.

DANR President Claribel Martinez-Marmolejos, the first woman of Dominican descent serving as legislator in Puerto Rico, will attend the ceremony accompanied by members of the Dominican American National Roundtable’s Board of Directors.

The event is free and open to the general public.
